Central Manitoba Railway Inc. (CEMR)

Overview

The Pine Falls subdivision consists of approximately 67 miles of track running from Winnipeg, MB to Pine Falls, MB. The Carman sub runs from Winnipeg, MB to Graysville, MB and consists of approximately 50.5 miles of track. This shortline railroad company was established in January of 1999, and began operations in April of 1999. With a current fleet of 4 locomotives, CEMR is responsible for the movement of freight to and from the shippers on these two lines. CEMR is also responsible for the maintenance and rehabilitation of these lines.

In 2003, a new Transportation Centre was built in the North Transcona area. This new facility is comprised of 38 acres of land, a 13,000 sq. ft. multi-use building, and 4.5 miles of track in a fenced compound. Our facilities, when combined with our product handling expertise, daily interchange with both Canadian class I railways, and our customer service orientated approach to doing business, positions our company as a high value alternative for meeting your transloading, car repair/sales, locomotive repair/sales/leasing and storage needs.
